Six years ago we produced a very small quantity of this wine from the first harvest from our friends and neighbors, Cathy & Rick Osgood. The wine turned out fantastic, selling out in 2 weeks. Since then we've been begging for more fruit so that we can produce more of this great wine. This year we’ve made twice as much so more of our fans can grab some.
The wine has notes of tropical fruit flavors with hints of white peach and pear. It is a bright and refreshing wine with a burst of lemon zest and a delicate minerality. Another perfect summer day wine.
Ruby Tuesday (the wine) is perfect for an afternoon refreshment, brunch or shower; a versatile accompaniment to a variety of foods. Made from 100% Syrah, light and fruity but totally dry and refreshing, reminiscent of the rosés of France.
This beautiful straw color wine will catch your eye and draw you in to savor this delicious Estate Viognier. Tropical fruits, pear and floral components will entice your palate to want even more. This somewhat finicky grape ripens beautifully in our warm Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley days and cool nights. This wine is French oak barrel fermented and only 116 cases were produced.
The varietal that started it all for Boyd Family Vineyards! After aging in 70% Nadalie and Taransaud barrels for 22 months, the Merlot was blended with 7% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Malbec from the Napa Valley. This blend accentuates the black fruit of Merlot with vanilla overtones that express the deep rich flavors of our vineyard.
The Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley is similar in many ways to the Right Bank in Bordeaux in that it is the perfect growing region for Merlot and Cabernet Franc. This wine is a 50/50 blend of our estate grown Cabernet Franc and Merlot that has been afed in French Oak barrels for 22 months. It is a very special wine with the spicy notes from the Merlot and the silky texture and blueberry notes from the Cabernet Franc.
Our Syrah is deep, dark and brooding with high notes of peach and hints of black licorice. Co-fermented with 4% Viognier, this wine has a delicious floral component. Vivid color and distinctly ripe, youthful Rhone character shines bright with violets, charcuterie, oak and vanilla spices. Sweet blue fruit and silky tannins with a dash of bacon fat create a round, deliciously fresh palate like stream-polished stones. Post fermentation the grapes were pressed into Francois Freres and Seguin Moreau French oak barrels and aged 14 months. Only 157 cases produced.
The original name of the Malbec grape was Cot, which we considered using for this wine. Instead, we call it EntreCOTe which is French for a ribeye steak . . . which happens to pair perfectly with this wine. To add roundness and complexity we blended in Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot to produce a wine with character and grace. It is full bodied yet not overpowering and enjoyable with cheeses or your favorite cut of steak!
This Cabernet Sauvignon from the Oak Knoll District from Napa Valley is everything you would expect from a big, bold Napa Cab. It is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Mogambo Vineyard in the Oak Knoll District. Ages in 100% new French Oak barrels, this wine is multi-layered and spicy, with a hint of pepper. Will age well over the next 3 to 5 years, if you can manage to keep it that long!
This amazing Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the exquisite MOULDS FAMILY VINEYARDS here in the Oak Knoll District, known for the Moulds’ meticulous attention to detail at every stage in the vineyard. This extraordinary Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon truly is larger than life! Luscious, bold and rich with flavors of exotic spices, this wine drinks like a contagious laugh that lingers with hints of dancing violets and a silky finish. This 100% Moulds Family Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon is aged 22 months in 100% new French Oak barrels.
Since we first planted the vineyard in 1999 we have grown Malbec, selling most of it to other wineries and using a small amount ourselves for blending. Finally we decided keep the grapes and to produce a Malbec. The original name of the Malbec grape was Cot, which we considered using for this wine. Instead, however, we call it EntreCOTe which is French for a ribeye steak...which also happens to pair perfectly with this wine. To add roundness and complexity we blended in Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot to produce a wine with character and grace. It's full bodied yet not overpowering and enjoyable with cheeses or your favorite steak.
